Main Rules « Thread Started on Sept 27, 2007, 4:17am »
1) Absolutely no odd fur colors, odd eye colors, wings, amulets, human-based objects, mind powers, super powers, elements, etc... This is a realistic wolf roleplay and it should be treated as such.
Eye colors tolerated are Brown, Gold, Orangish-Gold, Blue, Green, and Greyish Blue.
2) No GMing or PPing. Don't know what those mean? Keep on reading.
GMing- Godmoding. This is when your wolf is, in a sense, like a god. They are all powerful, dodge every attack, survive any type of event that a normal wolf wouldn't survive. PPing- Powerplaying. This is when you control another person's character/wolf. There is no excuse for this. The only exception is pups. That is if, and only if, the parent(s) of the pup(s) let's you roleplay that character.
3) Fighting. From time to time fights happen. Yes, we all love a good fight but without rules it would become a mad house. Spilling into the crowd. You get the point I hope, but anyway. There is no time limit between fights but think. A wolf can battle one wolf, but can't go immediately into another battle. That wouldn't be very realistic. The wolf would be too tired. Also during the fights you are limited to one attack and one defense per post. Keep dodges to 1 or 2 dodges during your fight. Dodging too many times is GMing and you will immediately lose the battle. And then there's always the reasons of fighting, after all, you can't just fight someone for no reason. The reasons could be as followed: Fighting over a mate, Dominance, turf, personal agenda, or just plain fun. Also remember that battles to the death are optional and if you do fight to the death it must be agreed by both fighters for that to be allowed. Please don't make be explain why. Competitions? Well, those can be held for fun. On occasion a wolf may challenge for a position, and a competition may break out. These are supervised by an Alpha. Competitions are not battles to the death. Simple as that. That's everything hopefully so now you know how to fight.
4) Mating. First off, no graphic mating. Please don't make me explain. You don't even have to roleplay breeding out at all if you don't want to. Just message an alpha and give them the good news. Once they're born up post their profiles (under one thread marked So and So's pups) and then you can put them up for adoption if you wish in the OOC. In other terms, see if any body wants to play as a pup. Makes it more fun that way. Now then, your wolves may only mate in the mating seasons. And bear in mind that wolves can usually begin mating around a year and a half of age. Mating too early or too late may endanger your pups' lives. Your wolf will only give birth in the birthing seasons, as this is the best time to have pups. Also please keep the litter between 2-6. We don't want pups up for adoption everywhere now. And on the subject of mates. A wolf is allowed one mate at a time. If your mate becomes inactive, you can choose another mate.
5) Getting Old. Okay so, as you've probably realized, your wolf can't stay the same age forever. Time rolls on a bit faster than life just because of the seasons. Every two months a new season begins. It's simple really. Be sure to change you're wolf's age accordingly. Your wolf should die around the age of 10-12 years. But on to the matter of roleplaying your own death. Trust me, it's not that bad. If your wolf gets sick, reaches his age limit, or dies from murder/plot purposes, it is easy to roleplay. You don't have to roleplay it if you don't want, just say that they left at the pack outskirts or something to find a place to die. Or, if you'd rather, set them around someplace comfortable to say goodbye to your friends. After you die you can make a new character and/or roleplay someone's pup.
6) Cursing. Keep it to a minimum. Over abuse of cursing is enough grounds to suspend a wolf or the roleplayer.
7) Holding Grudges. This is a roleplay, anything that happens IC (in character) shouldn't be held OOC. (out of character)Don't quit if your character gets into a tussle with another wolf, and DONT take it OOC.
8) Posting. Talk like you were taught to. no 'advanced' wolf lingo and no chatspeak. If you want to say "You are awesome" don't type "U R awsome!" Make sure you spell things right. We are lenient about this but remember guys there's a spell checker. Use it! I know sometimes when we're in a hurrying and don't have the time, and that's fine. Just try and don't do it all the time. Watch your punctuation. There are such things as periods! Use them, they like it! There's no length limit, so post to your heart's content. Also, there is no mirror-post rule. So if you want to type out a novel, don't expect another roleplayer to write a novel back.
Be sure that you separate your actions and dialogue also. You can type normally for actions and use quotation marks for your speech.
example- Tiara sighed laying down and resting her head upon her paws. "What a day."
Note: All posts are to be roleplayed in third person only. Nothing else. Remember that
9) Showing Respect. Well let's see. If you disrespect another wolf or a wolf of a higher rank, they have grounds to banish your wolf and/or fight you. Watch your tongue and your actions!
10) Plot? Plot! Well for the time Sarcina doesn't have a plot. Until we get larger it will stay that way. We are working on a main plot but for the time. Nothing.
11) Ranks. You may challenge for ranks, though there is a very slim chance you may win. Also, do not ask for ranks!!! People who ask for ranks rarely ever get them. You must earn them. How to do this? Be active, roleplay. Ranks are given out at meetings.
12) Characters You are allowed to have as many characters as your heart desires, however, remember to put the list of characters that you play in your mini-profile. Also keep your characters active. If you don't they're doing bye bye or they might be added to the adoptables list. And one more thing, for the sake of everyone please put each character's post in a certain color that way at a glance everyone knows what character it is.
